Main responsibilities of the role include
• Resolve engineering issues, answering technical questions and escalating to the
Operations Manager where appropriate
• Manage apprenticeship learning in line with training requirements and ensure Lead
Engineers are providing the appropriate mentorship of the apprenticeships. Act as a
key stakeholder between the apprentices and the training provider
• Manage the performance of DT PAYE engineer’s providing regular feedback and
ensuring continued focus on company and project goals
• Complete engineering duties as expected of a lead engineer
• Help to develop processes and contribute to policies relating to the day to day
management of the PAYE Engineering team
• Check and confirm the accuracy of the work performed and the methods used by
engineering staff
• Help to identify training needs for the team
• Involvement in the interviewing and hiring process for new engineers
• Communicate and collaborate with other managers, suppliers, and contractors
• Identifying tooling requirements
• Provide input to the business to drive quality standards
