Program Planner

 

Following continued growth, and the award of a significant network infrastructure project North have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced and qualified Program Planner to join our Operational delivery team to assist and contribute to the successful delivery of a complex and high value multiyear, multimillion roll out project.

The successful candidate will take ownership for the day to day management of a complex programme of works and associated resource & procurement planning. The Program Planner will have responsibility for project schedule, risk, resource and procurement management, ensuring sites within the roll out are delivered in line with the agreed program of works, on time and to budget in line with the scope of works.

 

The role would be best suited to a dynamic, driven and commercially aware individual, with exceptional attention to detail and excellent organisational and communications skills.

 

Experience in the networking, wireless or structured industry would be preferred, however you must have, or be able to develop, a high degree of knowledge and information about the business and the programmes in order to make informed decisions.

 

Business Functions

  • Assist the project team in successful deliver multi-site project ensuring operational and financial commitments are achieved
  • Liaise with senior stakeholders both internally and externally to update and convey the strategic programme including resource and cost management.
  • Pro-active and forward looking to support stakeholders in strategic and management decisions
  • Assist in accurate forecasting of project resource and procurement requirements
  • Work in partnership with business departments to drive project quality, cost and delivery performance
  • Identification and tracking of all changes or potential changes to the agreed implementation scope, ensuring that the relevant contract principles are applied and that the impacts are given immediate visibility to appropriate stakeholders
  • Ensuring accurate and timely planning, including progress reporting, effective measurement of key dates and milestones, stretch targets and critical path analysis
  • Monitoring and controlling of all work in progress using standard reports and KPI’s
  • Timely planning of Emergent/Additional work, so that the work can be progressed in accordance with Project schedule
  • Receiving and understanding of all project programme data and integrate all work activities to mitigate potential resource and work face clashes
  • Develop and build strong, mutually beneficial relationships with clients, partners and suppliers
  • Monitoring progress of a programme and identifying risk factors that can cause delays
  • Identifying ways to improve productivity and efficiency and reduce delays
  • Reviewing/evaluating each phase of the project and providing recommendations for continuous improvements
  • Supplying delivery forecasts of activities whilst assessing and reporting on late deliverables against schedules 

 

Qualifications

  • Relevant Program Planning experience or qualification
  • Highly motivated team player
  • Excellent communication skills
  • IT literate
  • Innovative and process driven
  • Well-developed planning and organisational skills including scope and schedule management
  • Risk and Issue Management experience
  • Ability work collaboratively with Commercial and Delivery teams to ensure accurate reporting
  • MS Project experience
  • Full UK driver's Licence
