The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced industry professional with strong core technical skills to join and add value to our dedicated and friendly team.

Our Professional Services consultants are responsible for designing solutions for new and existing clients and acting as technical design authority on all projects across the IP Networking product set which includes wide area and local area networking, wireless networks, perimeter security, IP telephony, and integrated solutions such as analytics.

Responsible for owning and delivering all aspects of professional services delivery internally and externally, the Professional Services Consultant plays a key role in delivering the company’s IP technology solutions and services whilst providing effective third line technical support.

This role will report to the Operations Director – Public Services and includes a programme of mentored training and development to assist the individual as required, but also with a view to future progression and succession planning.

As Professional Services IP Network Consultant you will be responsible for:

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to Sales to design solutions.
  • Technical design authority (TDA) for all projects in line with the core focus areas.
  • Responsible for generating low level design and equipment configuration templates.
  • Develop test plan and specification for projects.
  • Provide Professional Services consultancy days, working with clients.
  • Technical interface with vendors and partners
  • Assist, mentor and develop the network engineering team.
  • Deliver training and briefing sessions on solutions to the network engineering team.

Key Accountabilities

  • Produce comprehensive technical designs ensuring all elements meet the client’s specification.
  • Ensure all designs are fully documented to support project delivery.
  • Ensure site Health and Safety compliance and escalate any immediate issues to line management.
  • Provide high levels of customer service and ensure the company is always represented professionally.

Qualifications

For development purposes the following knowledge, skills and experience are required.

 

Experience:

Previous experience in a customer facing consultant role or equivalent with an excellent understanding of IP networking (WAN, Security, LAN, and Wireless).

 

Skills:

  • Good communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Technical expertise in core skillset areas
  • Organised and analytical with proven ability in problem solving and issue resolution.
  • A flexible approach, willing to travel and 'go the extra mile' to meet client and internal deadlines.
  • Good administration skills with sound working knowledge of business systems and mainstream applications e.g., Microsoft Office 365.
  • Excellent team player and relationship builder
  • A results-orientated ethos, able to apply knowledge and skills in the pursuit of sales objectives.
  • Sound commercial awareness, knowledge of design and pricing of systems and upgrades.

Certifications/Qualifications

  • Cisco Certifications CCIE/CCNP essential
  • Cisco Meraki, HPE Aruba, and Ruckus certifications an advantage
  • DBS clearance (for working in public sector environments)
  • NPPV3 clearance for work in the emergency services sector
  • Full UK driving licence.
